There were four men who were struck by a booby trap while on patrol. One man entered the service when his National Guard Brigade was mobilized and the other three men had been drafted into the service. The four men killed, all from D Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division were:


PFC Walker's burial marker shows he was awarded a Bronze Star and 1st Oak Leaf Cluster and two Purple Hearts for his short two months time in Vietnam since arriving on April 8, 1969.

PFC Roy Leacy Walker was survived by his mother Bertha (Altizer) Walker (1926-2000) and father Leroy Lecie Walker (1921-2001) and two sisters Sheila and Bertha. Roy and his parents are buried in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, Wyoming County, West Virginia. His parents were married for 55 years.
