I am just beginning to learn about my maternal uncle Lee Roy Taylor who died in Vietnam July 29th 1967. Although I never knew him, my earliest of memories contain my mother (his sister) saying such wonderful, loving things about him. Long ago I recall reading the letters he sent from Vietnam to my mother. I always knew that somehow I had missed knowing a very fine uncle to say the very least.

Yet through all these years I know so very little about his life. Now here in late March of 2008, over 40 years since his death, I am begining to learn a little more about him and I hope this continues. If any of you out there discover this and knew my uncle I would love to hear from you.

Lee Roy's mother still lives in West Virginia near his gravesite. She is in her 90's. My mother and many of his family still survive and grow more every year. To you, Uncle Lee Roy - I never knew you, but somehow feel our bond is strengthened and renewed today. I thank you as I do all who answered the call to serve. You are a hero of mine and I'm very glad to still call you "my uncle". May God bless and keep you until we meet again.

Love from your nephew,
Bruce Richard Bundy
