On 27 February 1968, B Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade (Separate) engaged a platoon of North Vietnamese Army in the vicinity of grid coordinates of ZA203747. The contact resulted in 3 Killed by Hostile Activity (KHA), 11 U.S. Wounded by Hostile Activity (WHA), 4 NVA killed in action, 1 RPG, 3 AK-47s, and 1 SKS captured. The 3 men killed during this event were:
