An ambush patrol from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 25th Infantry Division were enroute to their unit's Night Defensive Position (NDP) when a booby trap detonated. The explosion killed 3 members to Company A. The men who were killed in this event were:

In the March 11, 1970 Winona Daily News, the following was posted: "WASHINGTON AP Army PFC Marvin L Ringoen, rural Glenville, has been killed in action in the Vietnam War the Defense Department annnounced Tuesday. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs Kermit 0. Ringoen."

We know that he had at least one brother, Robert Ringoen and a sister Jean Ann (brother in law Robert C Nelson (2010)). His mother is Ruby A. Ringoen, Owatanna, MN. It appears his father passed away in 1978.
