Oscar was a life time resident of San Angelo, Texs. He attended San Angelo schools, last attending San Angelo Central in 1967. The photo is from the 1967 San Angelo Central High School Annual. He enlisted in September 1967. He is remembered by the Classes of the 60s at San Angelo Central High School, the Concho Valley Vietnam Memorial in San Angelo and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial located in Midland, Texas.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

According to the 3rd Bn, 27th Marines Command Chronology for June 1968, the 4th man in line in a foot patrol detonated a booby trap believed to have been made from a dud 155mm shell. The explosion killed two men and wounded several others. The dead were HM3 George L. Myers of Chicago, Illinois, and Pfc Oscar R. Juarez of San Angelo, Texas.
