CPT JAMES BAKER WOODS

Capt. James Baker Woods was a member of the Class of 1962 at Davidson College, where he was well known and highly regarded. A large number of our class members served in Nam, but he was the only one killed there. Our class was small and very close, and we have missed Jimmy at our gatherings since graduation. Due to his death in February 1966 at age 25, he never made to our first reunion. We have missed his smiling face and his fun-loving ways at our gatherings, which would undoubtedly have been a little livelier had he been present.

A group of his classmates gathered in 2010 at a class reunion and honored his memory with this toast:
Jimmy, on the 48th anniversary of our graduation and this 11th gathering of our class, please know that you are still well remembered. We have missed you at our gatherings along the way and know they would have been far more fun events had you been with us. A grateful class now stands to toast your honor and to thank you for the ultimate sacrifice you made for us all. Your memory will always be with us.
Jimmy here's to you!
