A Note from The Virtual Wall

Although Sergeant Wenzel was an artilleryman by training he was serving as an infantryman. He had received the Bronze Star for valor during the bitter engagement at Lo Giang (just south of Danang) and was wounded in action on 05 May 1968. In addition to the BS-V, he received a meritorious Bronze Star for his service with the 1st Bn, 6th Infantry.
