Sons and Daughters In Touch

06 Jun 2006

John, it is a pleasure to know your daughter. She does you proud.
We who served know that those who waited paid a price as well.
Rest knowing YOU did well.

A sailor from Our time.

From a friend.

PFC John Kim Vogelsang had started his tour in Vietnam on May 22, 1969 and was killed a little over two weeks later, June 6, when an unknown size enemy force attacked a Forward Operating Point he and his unit was manning. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

He is buried at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was survived by his wife Susan M and parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Vogelsang, all from St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
