Army Specialist Four Raymond Clark Thompson's name was not on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall when it was created as he was still living.

He was severely injured during a rocket attack on the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters at Lai Khe, Vietnam on June 7, 1969 and was medevaced home. He died from his injuries on October 27, 2010.

On August 15, 2012, the Department of Defense approved that his name be added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. His name was added May 5, 2013 in time for Memorial Day ceremonies at the end of May 2013.
