The NVA troops were well dug in and resisted with enthusiasm. When the fighting ended, the NVA had been expelled, leaving 42 dead and 7 prisoners behind - but eight Marines and one sailor were dead:
  • Cpl Gary A. Hall, Cuttingsville, VT, Mike 3/7
  • Cpl Louis A. Herrera, Denver, CO, Lima 3/7
  • HN Richard L. Powell, Youngstown, OH, Lima 3/7 (Navy Cross)
  • LCpl Willie J. Faulks, Montgomery, AL, Lima 3/7
  • LCpl Raymond P. Reilly, Lake Worth, FL, Lima 3/7
  • Pfc Ronald E. Adkins, Plattsmouth, NE, Lima 3/7
  • Pfc Lile L. Johnson, Mobile, AL, Lima 3/7
  • Pfc Richard S. Moxley, Watertown, MA, Lima 3/7
  • Pfc Donald W. Simonson, Sioux Falls, SD, Mike 3/7
