Jerry, I don't know if you remember me; I was young when you left for Vietnam - only in junior high. I am Charlie Rogers' daughter from New Waterford, OH (at that time). Last year I read a very moving book entitled "We Were Soldiers Once - And Young". I was glued to every page. I couldn't help but wonder whether you were involved in any of those battles or stationed in that area at any time. I pray you did not see action like that during your tour of duty. The book was given to me by a really good friend, Nick Frazier; he was in the Air Force and stationed in the Philippines at that time. I wonder, too, if you ever met him. I am grateful to him for awakening a need to learn more about the Vietnam War. I have done a little more reading since then. I do want to see the movie which just came out. I am sure you are with your father now; I remember him well. I am moving home to the Cleveland area in June and I want to visit with your mom soon. I am looking forward to that visit; I have many questions I want to ask her. Thank you so very much for giving your life on the day before you were to be sent home. You and your fellow soldiers make every day precious for me to be alive. You are always in my heart and I will never forget you.

Jerry, old friend, I miss ya man. In high school we talked of joining the Air Force together. I graduated first and joined the Air Force in '65 and made it a career. I was at Bien Hoa in '68 not knowing that you had perished in the God-forsaken country the year before. Rest easy, Jerry.
