I went through boot camp with Don in September 1966 at MCRD San Diego. Our platoon was 2219 and the head Drill Instructor was S/Sgt. John J. Malloy. I was the Platoon house mouse. Don was a good gung-ho Marine as I knew him in boot camp.

I only live 28 miles from his home town of Decatur, Illinois and knowing we both came to manhood and also earned our Eagle, Globe and Anchor together, I have fond memories of our journey. Peace, my brother ... Some gave All and All gave some. Semper Fi
