PFC ROBERT LOUIS PITT

15 Sep 2002

Bob was the beloved brother of Bill, William Sterling Thomas Pitt. Bill was loading to go to Nam to replace Bob when he was pulled out of line and told of his brother's death. He has been greatly missed by his mother, his father and his brother. His nieces and nephews have never met him, the man who gave his life for his friends, killed by small arms fire as he attacked a machine gun nest firing on his men. His family thanks the Garry Owen troopers who brought him off the field and sent him home to rest. He was awarded the Bronze Star with "V" for valor, but his family would have rather had him.

From his brother,
William S. Pitt

To Bobby, from Claudia ... This is written on June 19, 2007

I will never forget you. You were my very first boyfriend, and that is something a girl never forgets. My family and I talk about you quite often. We think of your brother Bill, who was my brother, Terry Amason's, best friend, and your parents. Terry and I would love to get in touch with your brother Bill as he wants to regain their friendship, and a friendship that we can remember and talk about you, Bobby.

We love you always,
Claudia
