Ted was a T-29 pilot at Navigator Training School, Harlingen AFB, Texas 1958-61. He was an avid scuba diver. As an Instructor Navigator, I flew with him on several occasions and since I was a fisherman we shared our ideas. He told me that where I was fishing in the surf at Padre Island, many large 5-6 feet long sharks patrolled the beach where I stood to fish. Ted's observations made me much more aware of my surroundings after that. I heard of Ted's death in 1964 when I began to fly in-country. He was the first of some 15 Harlingen navigator and pilot friends who lost their lives for our country. Fond memories of Ted and his shark finding expeditions.
