He was my Dad's best friend.
From the son of a friend.
Jerry Wayne Morton was my dad. I never got the pleasure of meeting him. He was killed in Vietnam two days before I was born. He is missed terribly to this day. My mom never remarried and raised 3 children alone. I know someday I will have the honor of meeting him.
I am curious as to who wrote "He was my dad's best friend". If you read this please contact me.
Thank You ... to all who served.
We love and miss you, dad.

The "Skytroopers" promptly found themselves heavily engaged, losing 15 men on 02 January:
