Leonard Lee Moore is the Grandfather I never had the pleasure to know. He left behind three sons and a daughter. I didn't get to know him but I do know he is an amazing man. I remember taking all his medals to school with me to every show and tell when I was a child. I am so proud of him and all the others. I just wish he had come back to us. He did leave me an amazing father though, and I can't thank him enough for that. We will meet each other one day!

My father left for Vietnam 3 days before my fourth birthday. Even at four he explained to me where he was going and why. I remember that night. It is burned in my heart. Within 2 weeks my father was to never see his family again. I often wonder what my life would be like with my father in it. My mother passed away when I was five. I don't understand why this happened. I am forty now and still hurt from them not being able to be with a wonderful family that they would have loved.

From his daughter,
