He was a "green beret" and served with General Henry Hugh Shelton in 1967. His name and picture was mentioned in Robin Moore's book "THE GREEN BERETS". He was part of the 5th Special Forces Group. The team he was a part of was the first to intercept infiltrators from the north into the South Vietnam. I'm very proud of my father.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 09 Oct 1969 the command ship overseeing an insertion was shot down just south of Srak Karan (1), just by the Cambodian border in the northeasternmost corner of Binh Long Province. The seven men aboard UH-1D tail number 66-01106, four aircrew and three Special Forces personnel, were killed in the incident:
