from Russell Gravett and Family.

Robert and I attended Park Street Junior High in Marietta. The two of us were good pals who spent a good deal of time together. Robert will always be remember and honored as one of our Nation's Best!

The 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry, lost five men on 27 Feb 1968:
  • B Company:
    • PFC Robert H. McCollum, Marietta, GA

  • C Company:
  • HQ Company:
    • MAJ William W. Roush, Houston, TX (Dist Svc Cross, 2 awards)
Major Roush, the 4th Bn's Executive Officer, received a Distinguished Service Cross for his actions during an attack on the battalion's firebase at Bo Tuc on 05 Jan 1968, and a second DSC for the fight that led to his death.

PFC Robert McCollum is buried in
Section R, Site 104,
Marietta National Cemetery
Marietta, Georgia.
