A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 03 Sep 1967 an incident involving UH-1D tail number 64-13722 from the 118th AHC cost the lifes of seven men. During takeoff the right cargo door came off and struck the main rotor blades, causing mast bumping. The tail boom and main rotor blades separated from the aircraft, which then crashed and burned. The seven dead were
