When you go home, tell them of us and say,
"We gave our tomorrow, for your today."

REMEMBERED
by his comrades in the
35th Infantry

23 Dec 2002

Tom was a classmate at Toms River High School in 1965. He went into the Army, via the draft if I remember right, and I went into the regular Navy to fly patrol planes.

My squadron deployed to Vietnam in May of 1967. The glamour of being there dulled really quickly and became reality when we lost our first casualties. I learned of Tom's death via an article mailed to me by my mother.

He was a good friend and the effect on me was more than I could have imagined. We were not the best of friends, as we only get a few of them in life, but we shared many classes, busses and laughs together.

I came home and Tommy did not.
The world is a sadder place for his loss.
