Lawrence R Lasiter, Vietnam From where I stand,
In this troubled land.
My heart goes out to those
Whose blood has been spilled,
Their lives been stilled.
The ones that God has chose.

From where I stand,
In this troubled land.
My thoughts go out to these.
Who have fought and won,
Left, when their tour was done,
And hope their lives now please.

From where I stand,
In this troubled land.
I think of the brave wives back home,
Who wait each day,
And pray each night,
They are so strong and so alone.
From where I stand.

What would you do for what is right,
Would you run or would you fight?
Stand your ground, be firm in mind,
Don't let up regardless of the grind.
Serve well, even in the small ways,
We'll be going home one of these days.
Be patient in this struggle of ours,
Bear your burden along with the jars.
Then comes the glory and the might,
From God to you for what is right..
