Robert was raised in Trent, Texas and is buried there next to his parents.
I've known their aunt and uncle, Robert and June Reynolds of Odessa, Texas, for my entire life.
The photo below is of his basic training platoon and was taken 10 Nov 1966 at Fort Ord. Robert is the first on the left, second row - the man with the red hair and BIG smile.
A Note from The Virtual Wall"A" Company, 1/327th Infantry, lost two men on 11 Dec 1968: PFC Robert E. Lackey and PFC Billy L. Goins of Vinita, Oklahoma.
