Delmer was my brother's best friend, but he was a caring childhood friend to me also. I just want you to know that to the world Delmer was just a single person but to us he was a true friend. He was not a standout person but he did stand out. I miss him more now as the years pass by than I did before. I guess with Memorial Day coming up the real meaning of heroes comes to mind. His time in country was short ... his life on this earth was cut short. He died before he even had a chance to live. The world is a lonlier place without Delmer in it. Delmer, the day never starts without thoughts of you. <3
