Tommy was a good soldier performed his duties in the best possible way.
He had been wounded five separate times, the fifth a chest wound resulting in his death.

One of my recollections of him was in the Battle of Trang Bang where he had been wounded and the enemy had taken his watch. Tommy had passed out from the lack of blood and he was not thought to have been alive when they passed over him.

He is remarkable in that he kept coming back for more, he had already done much more than required.
Truely above the call of duty.
