My name is Rick Koziana, I served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Nam from November 1967 to November 1968.

While there I received a letter from an old buddy's family about his death, I have been unable to locate the family. I would very much like to talk with them now but I couldn't before, and through time the letter was lost.

I would just like to have his family contact me,
I feel now that I can talk to them about Ron.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

The photo and following article is taken from The Philadelphia Daily News, special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' October 26, 1987.

The Illers remember their third son, as a ï¿ 1/2 quiet, thoughtful boy who was well-liked by everyone.ï¿ 1/2 Drafted into the Army in June 1966, ï¿ 1/2 Ronnieï¿ 1/2 Iller later cautioned his younger brother against enlisting. The numbers written on his letters home from Vietnam represented the number of days until he would be home again. Iller planned to resume working at Scottï¿ 1/2 s Florist in Holmesburg, where he worked part-time during high school and full-time after graduating from Father Judge High School in 1964. The 21-year-old specialist four was a light vehicle driver in Vietnam, assigned to the 525th Quartermaster Company. Iller died at Ban Me Thuot, Darlac Province, on Sept. 22, 1967, when the fuel truck he was driving collided with another vehicle. He was survived by his parents and four brothers.
