Hutch had done one tour in Nam, with MACV I think. Why he went back is anyone's guess. I remember him on the USS UPSHUR trying to keep us out of trouble. He really tied one on in Okinawa though. In Nam he was my squad leader and pretty religious, sometimes leading services for the men. We went on R&R together and had a really good time in Malaysia. We'd probably still be friends if his luck had held out. He was a good soldier and a great friend and I will always miss him.

There were some men who came after my brother passed away and brought our family a Bible. I would like to talk to them and thank them for their service.
