David was killed in hostile action on 14 April 1969 in South Vietnam. The Hildreth Dam was built in his honor. He was 19 1/2 years old when he was killed. We know what he was like when he was growing up here but if anyone can leave information about his military life, we would appreciate it. We only know what was received in letters and recalled by our elders. Now there are new generations that never met him and they like the stories.
From his cousins, |
To my loving husband David, it was like yesterday that you left me and went to your seat next to our father in heaven. I miss you every day of my life and things will never change. Our daughter has also passed leaving me alone but not for long I will be joining you. The anniversary of your death is coming again and I think of the things we used to do. You made me laugh all the time and you and our daughter Paula were the best things out of my life. I feel you some times around me and I know you are saying things will be ok. I will always love you and miss you.
Love
