Henry Toro Herrick is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Panel 03E Line 057.

My deepest condolences to those who knew and loved this young patriot-soldier. I was also a member of the illustrious 1st Cavalry Division (Oct 66-Oct 67). I heard about the legendary Ia Drang Valley battle as soon as we arrived in Vietnam. Years later, Hollywood would make a movie of this battle "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young" - a true story. I came home from the war feeling empty and hurting for those who would never return. It caused me to go into a long period of soul-searching. In 1973, I had a genuine encounter with God that changed my life. I found Jesus Christ as my Savior! He healed my heart and gave me the peace I was searching for. Jesus died on the Cross for each one of us to give us life. His life! We all need Him. Read Psalm 34 in the Bible and seek the Lord while He may be found. I truly hope the family of this young hero receives the comfort of the Lord.

Respectfully, Pastor Ray Gonzales
