3/506th 101st Airborne

A friend, a brother,
he once was through hell, back and then again.
I love him only as a brother can.

Rest forever more . . . we will always remember.

Benny, we knew each other from grade school on. I salute you as does your country. Rest in peace, brother. We all honor your friendship and memories.

From a friend,

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 25 March 1968 Bravo Company, 3/506th, hunted down an enemy platoon which was operating west of Phan Thiet. The ensuing fight lasted for over an hour with one Currahee killed in action: SP4 James Bennett Herrick.

Just over two years later, on 02 Aug 1970, his brother SP4 Dennis H. Herrick, 284th MP Co, was killed in an accident in Bien Hoa Province.
