I went through Basic Training with Kenneth at Fort Lewis, Washington from October to December of 1967. I remember him as easy-going and very young (weren't we all!). I had not heard of him until I ran a list of men I was in basic with through the Vietnam Casualty Date Base. I just thought a man of such courage and integrity should have a memorial to his sacrifice.
