Captain Hay, I only knew you for a short time, almost at the end of my tour. You were a good, caring man who looked after his men. I am sorry that you did not make it home and I did. God knows why some of us were spared. You took over Charlie Company while we were recovering from the TET Offensive and were at a very low point. It was an honor to have served under you and I wish I could have known you better. You and the others that did not make it have not been forgotten. It is what our country is all about. For now adios and will see you in heaven, for we have spent our time in hell!
