I was Billy's squad leader. I remember him as quiet and he smiled a lot.
He was a good soldier and did every thing that was asked of him and more.
I wish I could have gotten to know him better.

Billy and I went to high school together at Whitehaven High. He was a year ahead of me but we knew each other from classes together. He was always friendly and liked to laugh. I went to Vietnam November 27 1969, just a few days before Billy. We had lost touch after high school and I didn't know he had been drafted. I found out about his death when I returned for a 30-day leave December 1970 before returning to my unit in Vietnam. You are missed, Billy.
