A Note from The Virtual Wall

From the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, Command Chronology for June 1968:
02 June 1968:
     At 0700H, Company M suffered 8 USMC KIA's from friendly fire close air support. An investigation is in progress. Results were 8 USMC KIA and 5 USMC WIA.
Although the Command Chronology twice states that eight men were killed, only seven deaths in the casualty database can be associated with the incident:
