Raymundo was raised and educated in Uvalde, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Army from there. He was a career soldier. His wife's family was from Big Spring, Texas, and he took up residency there. He had been in the Army for 10 years and began his tour in Vietnam on November 8, 1969. He was a platoon sergeant and he died from multiple fragment wounds on April 1, 1967. He is buried in Site 1781, Section V, Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas. His family continues to reside in Big Spring. He is remembered by the Big Spring Vietnam Memorial and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice never be forgotten.
