A Note from The Virtual Wall

Three men from B Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, died as a result of having their OH-6A (tail number 67-16657) shot from under them on 15 May 1969. The pilot died in the crash; the other two died within days from injuries received:
  • CWO Arthur J. Murray, Cincinnati, OH, pilot, KIA
  • WO John R. Frongillo, Woburn, MA, copilot, DOI 05/17/1969
  • SP5 Carl R. Martin, Minneapolis, MN, crew chief, DOI 05/21/1969
Warrant Officer Frongillo arrived in Vietnam on Monday, 05 May 1969; he died twelve days later.
