Dear Larry,

It's been a long time since those days back in Westview! We all had a lot of fun, didn't we?

I never thought we would lose you, you were one of the sweetest people around.

My brother, Dewey, went to Vietnam also, but we were lucky enough to get him back... I wish your family had been as lucky.

Always know you will never be forgotten and always be loved.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 21 May 1966 units of the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, were operating near An Trach, southwest of Danang, when they came under fire from a hamlet. The ensuing engagement is described in the 1/9 Marines' Command Chronology for the month:
