Five men from C Company, 2nd of the 47th Infantry, were killed by an "explosive device" on 03 Feb 1969:
  • SGT Russell T. Fant, Bridgeport, CT;
  • SGT Ernest A. Spong, Oklee, MN;
  • SP4 Gary L. Glear, Silex, MO;
  • PFC William H. Miller, Sidney, OH; and
  • PFC Jon S. Rasmussen, Portland, OR.
