I knew Larry back in the early 60's in Chicago. Our mothers worked together. We lost contact when I moved to Michigan after my Freshman year of high school. In 1969 while I was on leave from the service, my mom told me she had heard that Larry was killed.

Last week The Moving Wall came to Naperville, IL.

I finally had an opportunity to go and try to find his name. I was hoping I wouldn't be able to find it. God, did it hurt, not just for Larry but for them all.

I would like to get in touch with Larry's parents. His mother's name was Helen.

Thank You,

Memorial Day, 2001

My Name is Tommie. For those of us who remember Larry he spent a lot of time at our home in Schiller Park. My Mother sort of brought strays in, Willie, Dutch, Racoon, and the rest. I was just a kid then but I looked up to them all. Even in the spring of 1969 I knew what I was going to do with my life, and I did it; I spent more than 20 years in the Army. It was the gallantry that those guys instilled in me, along with my mother Karen, who passed on 16 March 2001. Scavenger (Larry Davidson) has always been a part of my soul ... I hope that this will reach out to all those who knew him, who will either e-mail me or get in touch with me somehow.

I will always remember Larry as well as Tommie, his siblings and his mother Karen who did indeed collect us strays. Larry's death had a profound impact on my life and I will never forget him or the other close friends I lost while on my own tour of duty shortly after Larry's death.
