I just don't want John forgotten. I lived next door to his father, also John, who died last month at the age of 87. He never got over the loss of his only son (John's sister, Judy, is living and a grandma now). John got married just before Vietnam and fathered a child that he never saw. I never met John, but remember when our Air Force outfit had a reunion that I threw around 1980 (in our yard as well as in a hotel in Joliet), his dad didn't want to come out, because it reminded him of too much hurt. This is the Memorial Day weekend, and I simply didn't want John forgotten.

From a friend of his father and step-mom.,
