Captain Richard (Dick) Bovio was flying a combat aviation mission near Khanh Hoa, South Vietnam when he was critically wounded. The aircraft commander maneuvered the badly damaged UH-1H into a landing zone and the crew including Capt. Bovio were rescued. Capt Bovio was taken to the evacuation hospital in Nha Trang where he died of his wounds. Dick Bovio was a high respected member of the 281st AHC Flight and shall never be forgotten. Roger Green of the 281st AHC Association adopted Dick Bovio and is preparing his "Book Of Remembrance" for the 281st web site.
