I grew up across the street from Joey in the early 60's. Joey used to come hang out with my brother but he was always there when we had neighborhood games. I will always remember the time he actually ran over me with my own bicycle. He was definitely a character. I still remember when I heard he had been killed. It was such a shock and loss. He will always be part of my happy memories of growing up in Westerville.

I remember Joey, I remember him well and will not forget him in my lifetime. I lived in Westerville at the time and Joey was a shining light! At Westerville Lanes we would bowl in the mid-afternoons with many friends. Joey always had a smile and was so well liked. For a young man, he had the most infectious personality of anyone I had ever met. I am now 68 years old and still am very saddened when I think of how he lost his life at 20 years without the unknown opportunities this wonderful friend would have had. Rest in Peace, Joey, my very good friend. You are not forgotten and never will be. Thank you for your service to our country on mine and everyone's behalf !
