On the Home Page for the Wall,

there are 4 or 5 photos of items left at the Wall - the beer can, pack of Kools, Spaghetti-O's, can opener, and a note referring to the football game played in August 1967 was left for him from a buddy. I would love to hear from the person who left that note to Eddie.

Semper Fi - that was he!!!

YOOOOOOooooooo Eddie,

I remember making Angels in the snow, racing our bikes around the block, playing cowboys - you were Roy to my Dale; playing house with Eric and Sherry - you the Marine with his bayonet coming home from the war - sharing the trauma of Sister Natalia in Kindergarten, walking to school together most our lives, your tormenting (and I use that word lightly) me in adolescence, the spelling bees I DIDN'T win cause I looked at you and the many many times we got in trouble because we were always talking to each other ... but most of all I remember the last time I saw you, and want to say thanks for coming to say goodbye - it has now made such a difference in my life and spirit and proven so much to me ... I feel blessed to have been your buddy - you were the best friend a girl could have and I thank God for giving me such a faithful and loyal friend who is still with me to this day.

Thanks for being there - I know you are an Angel in God's Army. Love you, Eddie, hope I get to "see ya up there someday."

Love, Patsy

An Open Letter to Dear Eddie,

Thanks again for all you do up there. You ARE special and I think of you often and know you are the reason for getting me and you know who together after forty-two years. I thank you for that and I'm sure he does, too. Right now he needs something special, you know what I'm referring to, so PLEASE do what you do best and help him through this time and help him understand that what I have learned is the way so he can heal.

Love you, miss you and see you again some day.

Love,

Patsy

P.S. I would love to hear from anyone who knew Eddie, especially the guy who left the montage at the WALL. Please reply to plturnage@aol.com

Eddie, I miss you. I still have all of the letters you ever wrote to me.

I went with my son to Washington and saw your name on the Wall. You are truly missed every day.

Love
