I want to honor the uncle who I was not fortunate enough to meet but will meet someday. I have heard about him from my parents for my entire life, my father who lost his brother and is still haunted by it; my mother who lost a brother-in-law before she really knew him but still for the sake of her family kept his memory alive and filled with love, honor, and respect for all that Uncle Reid did. The pain they felt at his loss, the honor we all feel knowing the sacrifice that he made for all of us.

Uncle Reid, with the strawberry blond hair that my daughter now has, was kind, compassionate, and God-fearing. He was devoted to his family, brothers, sisters, and parents. He is missed, loved and truly thought of often.

Much love, Karla
