A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 10 Sep 1967, during Operation KINGFISHER, the 3rd Bn, 26th Marines endured a vicious fight at Hill 48, located about 6 kilometers south of the Con Thien outpost. Thirty-nine Marines and sailors died in the fighting, eight from GySgt Almanza's Lima Company:
