TO A FRIEND

This is to Alvie Wyatt, a friend that I have not forgotten even after 35 years. I have just seen the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall for the first time and had to look up your name. The moment I found it, I could see your face just like it was yesterday. I remember that night that the mortar rounds were coming in all around us. The one that took your life also killed Charles Haas and Larry Haylett who were your friends. I will not ever forget any of you. May God bless you and your family.
