Lorne was my "big brother" I was 18; he was 20. The third letter of our surname determined our Company assignment since both our names began with Wi (a quirk which baffled the assigning officer). Lorne was assigned to Alpha, I to Bravo.

Lorne died 11 days later when he was cut off from his Company while out on a long range patrol.
