TEN HUT! "Good morning, sir", giving a snappy salute. I almost flew with you that fateful morning, it would have been an honor sir. You handled those birds like you were born to do just that. It was always a privilege to fly with you, you were a "human" officer and a friend. Clear left, sir, we are inbound at last. May God bless.
From his crew chief, gunner and friend, |
We were in transit in a bunker in Anson the night we met. You showed me pictures of your wife and I showed you mine and I knew that I had found a friend. It is sometimes strange how things happen ... I also closed the zipper on the bag we brought you out in. I know you were flying, because you still had the collective in your hand, I tried to say goodbye but I couldn't. I'll be along soon and then we will never have to say goodbye ... Jim.
From his friend and crew chief, |
I had wondered what roads you went down after flight school and the events that shaped your life, Ron. It is amazing what one finds through the internet these days. I viewed our flight school picture at Wolters a few weeks back. If memory serves me it was a hot summer morning in 1967. I always wanted to thank you for all your guidance and friendship in getting through the "green hat days" at Wolters. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you always.
