I am seeking any information that anyone may have regarding my father

I didn't know your father. From the evidence given I think it's obvious your father was a hero ... he sacrificed his life for the country he loved. You should be proud of your father's legacy ... not many Americans can lay claim to be the daughter of a bona-fide hero, but I think you can.

God bless you.

We shared four years at Washington State.
We shared a drink in DaNang.
I left your bracelet on your coffin.
You have a place in my memory always.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 15 April 1972, 1LT Larry A Trimble and MAJ Gale Despiegler of the 421st Tactical Fighter Squadron, based at Danang, were in F-4D 66-0324 as part of an armed reconnaissance mission near Dong Hoi, North Vietnam. While the flight was prosecuting a truck convoy, Trimble's aircraft was hit by a surface-to-air missile and went down in Quang Binh Province, NVN, about 20 miles northwest of the city of Vinh Binh. Despiegler ejected, was captured by the North Vietnamese, and was released with the other POWs in 1973.

Trimble simply disappeared. The Vietnamese denied any knowledge of him.

On 21 June 1989 the Vietnamese turned over 13 sets of remains. On 03 October 1989 the Department of Defense announced that Larry Trimble's remains had been positively identified.
