A Note from The Virtual WallLate in 1967 an additional rifle company was added to the 4th Bn, 9th Infantry. Since the Battalion Commander did not want the new Delta Company to be made up solely of replacements, experienced troops were moved from Alpha and Bravo Companies. Sergeant Tommy R. Thompson was shifted from Bravo 4/9 to Delta 4/9.On 02 Dec 1967 the Battalion lost three men, two from Delta and one from Bravo:
