Dad, although I don't remember you I will never forget who you are and what you have done in your life. You now have one granddaughter, Jessica; three grandsons, Scott, Christopher, and Kurt; and daughter in-law Donna. You also have at this time one great-granddaughter Brianna born to Jessica. The moving Wall was in Carmel N.Y. a few years ago and your grandson Christopher said "My pop was a very brave man." How right he was. Dad, I LOVE YOU!

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 30 December 1966 MACV's Advisory Team 24 lost two officers in Kontum Province
  • MAJ Richard H. Lowery, Ellerslie, MD, and
  • CPT Edward I. Starr, Patterson, NY.
Captain Starr was commissioned through the Artillery Officer Candidate School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, receiving his commission with Class 2-62. Both men are buried in the Arlington National Cemetery.
